Han Nguyen works for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and is the Assistant State Conservationist for Management and Strategy in Gainesville, FL. His career history includes working as a Soil Conservationist intern for two summers and eventually full-time in Florida, a Bay Delta Initiative Soil Conservationist in California, and a Supervisory District Conservationist in Kansas. He earned a B.S. degree in Agronomy from Florida A&M University and immediately starting working with NRCS after graduation.
His hobbies include urban hiking, camping, cooking, casual cycling, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He claims not only his Vietnamese heritage, but also is a Southern boy having been born and raised in Panama City, FL. He’s an Asian American through and through.
Han is passionate about equality and inclusivity and wants to spread awareness of AANHPI issues that his community faces. He wants to make sure that his AANHPI community’s voices are heard and that the USDA strives toward AANHPI representation at all levels. He too aspires to fill those gaps of underrepresentation in upper leadership and hopes that he can lead by example as a leader of APIO.
