My career started as a soil conservationist with NRCS in the Career Internship Program (CIP) in Petaluma, CA and became a permanent employee there. I wanted to be active with APIO and be part of the APIO National Council because I have received a scholarship with APIO while I was in school and wanted to be part of this family. During this time I was also active with NRCS Civil Rights Committee in Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) Special Emphasis Program Managers (SEPM) and later on in Civil Rights Vice Chair while I was in Oroville, CA. I have left the agency for a few years and gained different skills outside of soil conversationist role. I’m currently in Bakersfield, CA as a soil conservationist and wanting to continue advancing in my career while being active and helping others in APIO as they have helped me.
